Lalibela, Ethiopia to Arusha, Tanzania
Another Travel Day
When you envision yourself as a worldly traveler trying to experience as much as possible you will have days like today. I spent most of the day driving to the Lalibela airport, flying to Addis Ababa, transferring from the domestic terminal to the international terminal, waiting on my flight to Tanzania, flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), and then taxiing to my hotel in Arusha. A full day.
The only two notable things from today are 1. Ethiopian Airlines is a really good airline (timely, bags go where they are supposed to, etc.) and 2. Although a bit brutal, the customs process works as intended. On my way out of the country I had to collect my binoculars that were confiscated on the way into Ethiopia. And it worked!
As a public service announcement, you can’t get an eSIM at JRO. But if you have a phone with a physical SIM card you can pick one up across the parking lot from the airport exit.
